About

My husband and I moved to Bendigo around 2004 to start new jobs, saved and built our house in Huntly, where we are raising our three, now primary aged, children. Nothing makes me more content than being outside, wandering in my garden with a pair of secateurs in hand, or just sitting under the patio with a cuppa admiring the beautiful space we have created together. I also love heading out on weekends with our caravan to nearby bushland, where we all go for walks, ride our bikes, play cards and relax by a fire - feeling like we’re miles away, but really we’re not that far from home. I am a scientist, employed part-time in the State government sector, and this has given me the opportunity to work on large projects and work with community groups to achieve on-ground outcomes. Outside of work, I’ve also found a real passion for being more active in the local community, having been involved in our local kinder committee, and then school council. I’ve also participated in some Council committees, for example the Epsom Ascot Huntly Floodplain Management Study Advisory Group, Sustainability and Environment Advisory Committee and the Public Space Plan Community Reference Group. These have introduced me to a range of services provided by Council, and many local people who share a range of skills, opinions, knowledge and experience to learn from. I’ve also been involved in the campaign for a few successes – an automated pedestrian crossing in Huntly and additional footpaths, and grant funding for much needed upgrades to the playground in our school. These small wins have given me a nudge, and the motivation to draw on all my reserves of courage, to put myself out there and live my values: to be inspiring, always adaptable, and most importantly to make a difference. So here I am, aiming for a position as a Local Councillor in the Whipstick Ward.In October, when you get your postal vote pack in the mail, I encourage you to vote for me!
