For three days over the first weekend in February, Launceston’s usually serene City Park plays host to Festivale, an event that attracts people from all over the world. What started off as a multicultural street party event over 30 years ago has been transformed into an iconic, award winning Tasmanian event which draws people together to enjoy the best food, wine, beer, spirits and cider that Tasmania has to offer. Together with multiple entertainment areas, food and beverage masterclasses and public cooking demonstrations, your unique Festivale experience awaits. The February scheduling of Festivale takes advantage of the most settled and enjoyable weather conditions experienced in Northern Tasmania. There are plenty of reasons to be in Launceston at this time of the year but including Festivale in your plans (whether a local or a visitor) provides a wonderful sampler of many of the things Launceston and Tasmania has become renowned for.
