About
The North Central CMA was established in 1997 under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994 and also has powers and functions under the Water Act 1989.
Delivery of the 2021-27 North Central Regional Catchment Strategy is a core business function of our organisation; it's the overarching strategy for all involved in land, water and biodiversity management within the north central region. Through its vision – ‘working in partnership for a healthy catchment’ – it provides a roadmap for our collective efforts to care for our catchments over the next six years.
The preparation of the RCS is work that we do on behalf of the region, but partnerships are essential in delivering it. There are many that have a role in caring for our region’s natural resources and many that rely on them for their productivity and prosperity. To realise the ambition of the RCS we need farmers and public land managers, Government and community groups, scientists and Traditional Owners to work side by side.
