Every year thousands of racing enthusiasts make the annual pilgrimage to the coastal town of Warrnambool to view Australia’s finest jumps horses, immerse in the thrill of racing, be inspired by autumn race fashions, and enjoy unmatched country hospitality.
The three day Carnival is renowned for its rich racing traditions and home to the internationally acclaimed Grand Annual Steeplechase, the longest of its kind in Australia. An expedition to the hill for a birdseye view of the visually breathtaking 5,500m race is an iconic visitor experience.
The Warrnambool Racecourse is located in the vibrant coastal city of Warrnambool, on Victoria’s iconic Great Ocean Road. Positioned in the heart of town, just two kilometres from the CBD, the Warrnambool Racecourse has been home to racing since 1847, when the first settlers arrived.
